Want the stability and ruggedness of a downhill bike with the agility and playfulness of an all mountain machine? The 2013 Diamondback Scapegoat frameset is where you need to start. The 2013 Scapegoat 6" frame is created from 6061-T6 Weapons Grade Aluminum featuring a hydroformed top tube, a butted and formed downtube seatstays, seat stay bridge, a tapered headtube, a 142×12mm E-Thru Axle drop out and Diamondback's Knuckle Box Suspension technology. We started by designing the Scapegoat frame around a 180mm fork up front which allows the front end to sit slack at a hill shredding 66 degrees. You can certainly run the bike with a 160mm fork if a steeper front end is desired. We've also added a reinforced downtube to ensure a stable platform regardless of how big you go. By increasing the size of the hardware, we put less stress on the bearings sustaining their life. The Scapegoat has a host of other unique frame features such as a: Tapered Head tube – Today's longer travel forks generate more stress on the head tube. Add in today's more aggressive rider and the need for additional strength in that region becomes imperative. Thus the 2013 Scapegoat frame is equipped with a tapered head tube for enhanced steering and extra strength. Employing Shimano's new 142×12 mm E-Thru axle design makes for a stiffer and stronger rear-end on the bike. Single-sided hardware used for the three main pivot points allows for easy access to your Enduro Max bearings simply with standard tools.
